In the Middle Ages, tattooed people were severely punished, since the Catholic church had prohibited this kind of customs. Only Army soldiers were allowed to have a tattoo to identify their bodies in case of death at the war, never for a matter of aesthetics. Animal bones were used in a very painful process, which in addition caused a slow healing.
The tattoos and piercings’ fashion is becoming more and more widespread. It’s not unusual to see tattooed people on the streets, irrespective of their age or social class, even my old Aunt Loli has herself tattooed on the ass! At the age of 65… Can you believe that?
Let’s talk about foot tattoos, I’m pretty sure you’ve seen a lot of them, what do you think about it? I think most of them are gorgeous, although there are some exceptions that is better left unsaid. Or could be very nice for me, and horrible for you, as always, it’s a matter of taste.
This is not my first time speaking here about foot tattoos, I recall mentioning it once or twice, when I talked about a psychologist who was rejected by the Army for wearing a foot tattoo, in the post “Foot Fetish Polls”. On that poll I could see that there was a considerable divergence of views on the issue.
The foot can be tattooed over the entire surface; instep, ankle and even toes. The only part of the foot not usually tattoed is the sole. Some tattoos are small and simple but others are so long and complex that cover legs and feet at same time. What’s your favorite? A small cute or a big elegant tattoo? I honestly prefer little ones, but some large tattoos are really sexy too.
The rise of the tattoos has much to do with celebrities, many of them love to wear and show with pride their tattoos. I especially like those celebrities who have tattooed their tender sweet tootsies. Don’t miss Demi Lovato’s foot tattoos with the inscriptions “Let Go & Let God”.
Dakota Johnson suggest you to “Look At The Moon” in this cute tattoo painted on her awesome delicious feet.
And they’re not the only one, the gorgeous artist Katy Perry has a couple of ankle tattoos: A cool cherry blossom inked on the outside of her right ankle and a striking smiling strawberry on the inside of her left ankle.
There are many types of feet tattoos, most common are old school, Irezumi art (Japanese), Celtic and polynesian tribals, realistic, gothic and Dotwork but also there are some other more personal designs. I’ve made a list of the 14 most common tattoos categories with some feet inked samples on it, click HERE or the banner bellow to access.
